
Justin was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and his first language is Spanish. After earning his degree from The George Washington University, he settled in Charleston, South Carolina, where he attended the Charleston School of Law.
Justin has dedicated a significant portion of his career to serving Hispanic and Latino communities and their legal interests. While in law school, he assisted in the representation of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico in natural resource damages claims. After graduating, he served as Special Counsel to the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico in groundwater contamination litigation and has represented clients from diverse backgrounds in personal injury, tort, and civil matters in both federal and state courts. He has also volunteered with the South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center on immigration matters on a pro bono basis.
Justin is a Shareholder at Derrick Law Firm Injury Lawyers, where he works directly with the Firm's Hispanic and Latino clients in personal injury and workers' compensation matters. Driven by a deep commitment to his community, Justin is dedicated to advancing the Hispanic and Latino legal profession throughout South Carolina.
